Two Blokes, Three Wheels, One Mission

This September, Ben Gierke and Scott Lidster are taking on one of the most ridiculous challenges we could find, the Rickshaw Run India, a 2,500-mile adventure across the Indian subcontinent in a tiny, gloriously unreliable three-wheeled tuk-tuk.

Starting in the foothills of the Himalayas and finishing in Fort Kochi in southern India, we’ll take on mountains, deserts, chaotic traffic, rough roads, no roads, breakdowns, and whatever else India decides to throw our way. The journey is completely unsupported, meaning we’ll be responsible for navigating our own route, fixing our own vehicle, finding places to sleep, and figuring out how to get ourselves (and our trusty tuk-tuk) to the finish line.

For two weeks, we’ll be relying on teamwork, problem-solving, a good sense of humour, and a fair bit of luck. We’ve never attempted anything like this before, so there’s every chance we’ll spend plenty of time getting lost, getting stuck, and learning how to repair things we’ve never touched before.

While the adventure itself is the challenge, our bigger mission is to raise funds and awareness for Little Wings, a charity that provides free air and ground transport for seriously ill children and their families in regional Australia, helping them access vital medical treatment at major city children’s hospitals. 

We’re taking on this crazy journey to support the incredible work Little Wings does, and we’d be incredibly grateful for any contribution, big or small, to help us make a meaningful difference while we take on this unforgettable adventure.
