PRIDE MONTH DONATIONS

This June – Pride Month 2025 – we're dedicating every single donation to something very special: free LGBTQIA+ resources for schools and community organisations. 

Our goal: 1,000 free school resource kits, and to distribute 1,000 free school eLearning resources. That's over a thousand schools impacted. 

Our goal is $100,000. It's a big goal. Why? The same reason we've chosen free resources to be our focus: it's tough out there for schools. The socio-political landscape, shrinking budgets, and the fact that so much of the time, LGBTQIA+ inclusion is championed by one passionate teacher or staff member. 

Queer young people are at risk, so we're making a big commitment. Help us create free resource kits filled with posters, educational content, and affirming visibility gear. Help us create digital resources for schools and classrooms to use in creating inclusion. 

• $10 means another school accessing free LGBTQIA+ resources like posters, flyers, and visibility merch.
• $50 means a school accessing free eLearning to champion education for students and teachers.
• $100 supports a school to access eLearning and resource kits for over 500 students.

Who are we?

Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth via life-affirming events, leadership programs, and education for the whole community.

We’re creating an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them. Here's how we do it.

Awareness & Visibility 

We build awareness of the 2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ youth who still experience abuse for who they are. Our digital campaigns and partnerships start crucial conversations to amplify the voice of the next generation. 

LGBTQIA+ Education

Creating an Australia free from discrimination is a job for everyone. We transform awareness into action through LGBTQIA+ training, workshops and resources that enable others to champion inclusivity – no matter their location.

Life-Affirming Programs

Our preventive model of mental health support tackles social isolation by creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ youth belong. Young people are at the forefront of our programs – and we're empowering them to be the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders.  

Our Reach
Since 2011, we have transformed the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people Australia-wide:

• Over 70,000 LGBTQIA+ youth have attended events
• Over 36,707 people have participated in inclusion training
• Over 4 Million people accessed free digital resources and education. 

Why we do it

Despite how far we've come, 2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ young people will still experience harassment and discrimination just for being who they are. 

• Up to 21% of high school students around the world identify as LGBTQIA+
• 2-5% of the population are trans or gender diverse 

Why what we do works

Minus18 measures program impact through evaluation and consultation:

• ​​96% of young people attending events said Minus18 helped them to be their true selves.
• 73% of young people make a new friend at Minus18.
• 90% of high school students report feeling more confident standing up to bullying after a Minus18 workshop.
