Please, join me in raising money to provide food and essential medication for students and families trying to survive in the current border conflict zone between Cambodia and Thailand.
Access to food and medical supplies for students at Don Bosco School, Poipet (primary, high, and technical) and their families is a day-to-day struggle.
Many businesses that employed people have closed because of the war, and this has had a severe impact on the local economy and therefore the livelihood of the people, including parents of students at the school.
The lack of sufficient food has a major bearing on students’ health and their ability to concentrate on their schoolwork, as well as on the overall health and well-being of their families.
In 2026, the cost of providing daily lunch for a student, over the eleven months of the school year (Oct 2025 - Aug 2026), as well as the cost of support to families was as follows, for each:
Prospective donors can consider funding daily lunch for one or more students’ for either six or eleven months or vary their donation to include a student lunch and funds to support a family, by including the total amount in the other amount box section. Or the other amount box can be just used for a more general donation to the appeal.
The 2026/2027 demand for help is expected to be at least maintained or, more likely, be increased.
The actual cost for the support offered to students and their families this school year was over $40,000; a lot of money. It would be wonderful if we could achieve even half of that amount, at the same time any financial support we can offer will be gratefully received by the school.
We now need you to help make it happen!
Help Don Bosco School Poipet in 2026/2027 to:
The project appeal will run for the month of September (30 days only); weekly updates will be available on the Give Now fundraising page for your information and encouragement.
All funds raised (minus a small GiveNow fee) will be transferred directly to the Don Bosco School, Poipet and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible (Australia) via the donation receipt.
Your donation, whatever amount, will make a difference.
Thank you for your help, kindness, and connection with the story of the Don Bosco students and parents of Poipet, Cambodia, it is very much appreciated.
